John Stephen Goodman is an American actor, born on June 20, 1952. He played the role of Dan Conner in the television series, Roseanne. He also won Golden Globe Award for the best actor in 1993. John took a drastic decision to change his lifestyle to lose 200 pounds. This Roseanne star is looking incredibly smart after shedding 200 pounds. Goodman flaunted on the Red Carpet for the premiere of Tubi’s “The Freak Brothers” at Fred Segal. He looked very dashing and handsome in an orange v-neck sweater over a blue shirt. He was looking very happy posing with his co-stars. He completely quit alcohol which helped him a lot in shedding pounds. 

Goodman revealed his fluctuating weight, for which he said that it is due to his old habits. “In old days, I would take three months out, lose 60 or 70 pounds and then reward myself with six-packs or whatever and just go back to old habits”, he told ABC in 2017. “This time, I wanted to do it slowly. Move, exercise. I am getting to the age where I can’t afford to sit still anymore, said Goodman.

The Roseanne star ditched the alcohol completely and hired a personal trainer Mackie Shilstone to help him to lose weight and make healthy lifestyle modifications. He lost 100 pounds by 2016 after he got sober. 

Goodman started walking 10000-12000 steps, 6 days a week. He also adopted a Mediterranean diet that focuses on fish, olive oil, fruits, vegetables, and nuts along with portion control. “This didn’t happen overnight – it’s been an ongoing process,” Shilstone said of Goodman’s progress. 

“It was basically just portion control and I don’t need it,” he told AARP in 2018. “I was just shoving everything into my mouth.”

The actor said I had to accept an Emmy award. “So, I missed the rehearsal because I was drunk, and then by the time Sunday morning rolled around I was shaking.”

“I was still drinking, but I was still shaking. I had the clarity of thoughts that I needed to be hospitalized. I called my wife, which was like turning myself into the Gestapo, and she did some phone calls; we got me into a treatment center, and I detoxed there and decided I liked the feeling.”  This was the turning point in his life when he got sober. 

Goodman’s Exercise routine 

The Roseanne star hired a personal trainer Mackie Shilstone for his exercise routine. Goodman’s workout includes 40 minutes of cardio each morning, followed by another 40 minutes of cardio in the afternoon and intermittently adding strength training, six days a week. 

He also walks 10000-12000 steps every day to ensure maximum benefits.  

John also combined the apple cider bill along with the diet and workout regime for effective weight loss.
